Tours are now full but you can join a list of reserves
This year the fete is being held in the wonderful grounds of Stargroves. The estate have been really kind offering to let us run some tours around the gardens and the Head Gardener – Tina Chillingworth – will be leading them.
Stargroves has been extensively restored, creating a contrast between traditional cottage planting, clean sandstone terracing and prairie style borders, interspersed with formal lawns. The terrace garden and productive walled gardens are encompassed by mature woodlands and pastures which give stunning views to the surrounding countryside.
Tina will be running two tours, each about 45 minutes long: Tour 1 starts at 2.15 reporting time 2.05pm and Tour 2 starts at 3.15 reporting time 3.05pm.
There will be 30 places on each tour; and the cost will be £5 per person, payable in cash on the day. This is in addition to the cost of entry to the fete.
Unfortunately the tour will not be accessible by wheelchair.
Dogs are welcome.
You can request a place on a tour via the link below. Fill in the form and we will send you a confirmation by email.
If your place is confirmed, go to the Plant Stall at least 10 minutes before your tour is due to start. We will check your name and collect your money.
If you are booked for the first tour and you miss it, we will not be able to put you on the later one. A bit harsh, sorry, but we have to be strict on numbers.
Hurry! The tours sold out very quickly last year.
Bookings begin at 2pm on Sunday 28 April 2019.
